Junghans Max Bill Damen - 47/7452.46

Graceful, slim and effortlessly elegant, the Junghans max bill Damen (ref. 47/7452.46) brings the purity of Max Bill's design to a refined ladies' watch. Its matt white dial features clear markings and hands with environmentally friendly luminous substance, with a date display that blends seamlessly into the minimalist layout.

The polished stainless steel case is finished in a warm sand gold PVD coating and measures just 32.7mm across and 6.9mm thin, so it sits beautifully on the wrist. A matching PVD-coated milanaise bracelet with a safety buckle adds a fluid, jewelry-like feel, while the Junghans J643.29 quartz movement keeps precise time with no winding needed. With an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and 5 bar water resistance, this quartz watch for women is as practical as it is beautiful.

Timepiece History

Junghans traces its roots to 1861, when Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law set up a workshop in Schramberg, in Germany's Black Forest, to make components for clocks, and the first complete Junghans clocks followed in 1866. By 1903, Junghans had become the world's largest watch factory, and in 1918 Arthur Junghans completed the nine-tier Terrassenbau, a terraced factory designed to bring daylight to every workplace that now houses the Junghans Terrassenbau Museum. Owned by the Steim family since 2009, Junghans still crafts its watches in Schramberg.

Swiss designer Max Bill, a former Bauhaus student, first worked with Junghans on a kitchen clock in the early 1950s and designed its wristwatches from 1961. The ladies' max bill carries forward his ideal of uniting practical value with beauty, presenting the same clear, minimalist design language in a slim 32.7mm case.
